We recorded this demo five years ago in light of the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO. Since we responded to this police killing, Black Lives Matter has taken us to new levels of struggle and awareness. In light of the more recent police killings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and countless others, we present you with GKA and our first recordings. Defund the police! Black Lives Matter!

STUCK IN TIME

The churning of the conflict in the burning skies,
The turning of the power among the lies,
With the ringing of alarms in a blink of an eye,
Another day passes in headlines.
In the shadowlands of black and white,
Where 10% are black and ninety are right
Where the belief in the system supersedes your rights
And the supersession is your only right!

Stuck in time, we're stuck in time,
Stuck in time, stuck in time!
We hope there's a turning point in this fight
Where white flight is thrown back from the sky
Where to gentrify is genocide
And the poverty line leaves nowhere to hide,
Stuck in time!

Police the policy of a police mind,
All teched-out to hold the line.
Digitalized on nickels and dimes,
You display the crime.
But the police don't police the police,
So the dead lay to rot under sheets,
While the pigs get paid to lay on the beach,
Others still ask why we march in the streets.

Because we're stuck in time!


BLUE SILENCE

Alone
On our way home
You intimidate us only just
To impress fellow officers

Acting out in fear I ask you
Does it start to feel
Blasé by the 3rd or 4th time,
Tell me is it real?

Your crew,
Protected by tools
With fabricated legalese, oh please,
